heal.abstract A summary of the research work carried out in our Laboratory, concerning the analysis of nonlinear optical waves guided by complicated planar/cylindrical structures is reported here. The methodology is based on the resonance technique and is simple and easily programmable on a small personal computer. The nonlinear media considered are of the general type (non-Kerr media) including the more complicated but realistic case of saturable media. A representative set of numerical results obtained by this method is demonstrated. en
