heal.abstract This paper presents numerical calculations for the prediction of the second-order wave drift damping for two large-sized ship-shaped hydrodynamically interacting structures subjected to monochromatic incident waves of various heading angles. The so-called 'heuristic' approach is applied, which provides the second-order wave drift damping (WDD) terms in surge and sway modes of motion. The calculation of the wave drift damping relies on the preliminary estimation of the wave drift forces. This task is performed using the well established source distribution method, with sufficiently dense panel grid. The drift forces are derived using the near field or 'direct integration' method. Although the major part of the text is dedicated on the interacting vessels, particular attention is paid on the isolated large floating structures as well.
