heal.abstract	Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία ασχολείται με μία σημαντική κατηγορία λιμενικών έργων,αυτή των βαθιών θεμελιώσεων με πασσάλους και πασσαλοσανίδες.Επιχειρείται η περιγραφή των κατασκευών αυτών,καταγράφονται οι διάφοροι μηχανισμοί αστοχίας και οι απαιτούμενοι έλεγχοι επάρκειας με βάση τους διεθνείς κανονισμούς και εντοπίζεται η βασική διαφορά μεταξύ των μετώπων με πασσάλους ή πασσαλοσανίδες και των εύκαμπτων ναυδέτων με πασσάλους.	el
heal.abstract	The present diploma thesis deals with an important category of marine works,which is the deep foundations on piles and sheet piles.The description of these structures is attempted,the failure modes and the required limit states checks according to international regulations are listed and also the basic difference between quays and breasting dolphins on piles is identified. Firstly,the distinction between the basic categories of marine w orks according to their construction purpose is done. Moreover,the basic structures with piles or sheetpiles in marine works and the energy absorption devices (fenders) which attached to them are described.Also Eurocode 7 is examined with emphasis on ultim ate limit states and serviceability limit states for piles and earth retaining structures. Furthermore,the typical arrangements of piled dolphins for the berthing and mooring of ships are detailed and also the flexible and rigid dolphins are described. Finally,serviceability requirements of flexible dolphins and quays are listed and a conclusion is reached about the different behavior of their structural members under latteral loads	en
