heal.abstract	Η ανάγκη για παροχή μιας στέγης σε έκτακτες περιπτώσεις αποτελεί κυρίαρχο ζήτημα στις μερες μας. Με το πιό πρόσφατο παράδειγμα τη μεγάλη εισροή των προσφύγων σε όλη την Ευρώπη των τελευταίων ετών αλλα και πολλές άλλες περιπτώσεις, όπου λόγω των συνθηκών αρκετοί άνθρωποι έχασα τα σπίτια τους. Κάποιες από τις πιο συχνες λύσεις σε αυτά τα περιστατικά αποτελουν οι σκηνες και τα κοντεινερ. Οι λύσεις αυτές ωστόσο δεν παρέχουν αξιοπρεπείς συνθήκες διαβίωσης ( ιδιαίτερα σε περιόδους με πιο έντονα καιρικά φαινόμενα) ενω παράλληλα σε βάθος χρόνου δεν αποτελούν μια οικονομικη λύση. Παράλληλα η ύπαρξη πολλών παροπλισμένων πλοίων που υπαρχουν προσαραγμένα στα λιμανια αποτελεί ένα άλλο μεγάλο οικονομικό και περιβαντολογικο πρόβλημα στη χώρα μας. Σκοπός αυτής της διπλωματικής είναι η μετατροπή ενός παλιού επιβατηγού πλοίου σε ένα πλωτό χώρο κατοίκησης για ένα χρονικό διάστημα κατάλληλο για διαβίωση μέχρι τη δημιουργία μιας πιο μακροπρόθεσμης λύσης . Με τη μετατροπή αυτή τού πλοίου σκοπός είναι η δυνατοτητα μιας λύσης όπου το “καταφύγιο” θα μπορεί να μετακινείται και να παρέχει μια γρήγορη και άμεση ανταπόκριση στην ανάγκη για στεγαση	el
heal.abstract	The need for emergency housing is one very important matter today in the field of architecture. The most recent example is the big refugee inflow to Europe during the last years but also many cases of natural disasters where many people lost their homes. Some of the most common solutions to these problems has been the use of tents or container homes which do not provide decent living conditions ( especially during periods of extreme weather conditions). Meanwhile the existence many decommissioned ship which stay laid up at the ports of Greece create many economical and environmental problems. The aim of the project was to create a solution to the emergency housing problem by using an old passenger ship by turning it into a floating shelter adequate to be used for a small period until a more long-term solution has been found. This solution provides the advantage of moving in just a few hours close to the region in need. The chosen ship is an old passenger ship from a bankruped company which for many years was just left in the port of Eleusina. The certain ship was chosen for its good size (120 meters) as it is easily put in most of the greek islands. After it’s conversion to a shelter the ship is able to accomodate from 360 up to 430 people, 16 disabled people and 40 people stuff with a total of 3500sqm. The accomodation includes a big kitchen of 240 sqm,a restaurant and cafe of 680sqm, an infirmary of 120sqm, common spaces with library,teaching rooms, kids rooms and a theater with a total of 1400 sqm and 600 sqm of laundry and storing spaces.	en
