heal.abstract	Η παρούσα εργασία διερευνά την έννοια του ενδιάμεσου χώρου στην ιαπωνική αρχιτεκτονική ως μια θεμελιώδη συνθήκη του αρχιτεκτονικού σχεδιασμού, ισότιμης αξίας με τον περίκλειστο χώρο. Η έννοια του ενδιάμεσου στην ιαπωνική σκέψη εμπεριέχει έναν πλούτο νοημάτων και χωρικών αποδόσεων που ανάγονται σε αντιλήψεις βαθιά ριζωμένες στην ιδιαίτερη φιλοσοφία τους και σχετίζονται με τον τρόπο με τον οποίο οι Ιάπωνες αντιλαμβάνονται τον κόσμο γύρω τους. Μέσω της ανάλυσης φιλοσοφικών εννοιών της Ιαπωνικής κουλτούρας, όπως το ma, το en και το oku η εργασία επιχειρεί να αναδείξει ότι το ενδιάμεσο για τους ίδιους είναι ο τόπος όπου το εσωτερικό και το εξωτερικό, το φως και η σκιά, το υλικό και το άυλο συνυπάρχουν και αλληλοσυμπληρώνονται, είναι το “ανάμεσα” που γεμίζει με την δυναμική των συσχετιζόμενων εννοιών, το μέσο με το οποίο εξαλείφεται ο απότομος διαχωρισμός και ενισχύονται οι διαβαθμισμένες μεταβάσεις. Επιδιώκεται μια αναζήτηση του πως οι έννοιες αυτές του ενδιάμεσου χώρου μεταγράφονται στη σύγχρονη ιαπωνική αρχιτεκτονική και με ποιον τρόπο οι ενδιάμεσες χωρικές συνθήκες συμβάλλουν στη διαμόρφωση της ατμόσφαιρας, της ροής της κίνησης και της αισθητηριακής εμπειρίας του χώρου διαχρονικά.	el
heal.abstract	This thesis explores the notion of in-between space in Japanese architecture as a fundamental condition of architectural design with equal value to the enclosed space. The concept of in-between in Japanese thought contains a wealth of meanings and spatial renderings that stem from perceptions deeply rooted in their particular philosophy and are related to the way in which Japanese perceive the world around them. Through the analysis of philosophical concepts of Japanese culture, such as "ma", "en" and "oku", the research attempts to highlight how the in between space for the Japanese is the place where the interior and the exterior, light and shadow, the material and immaterial coexist and complement each other, it's the in-between that is filled with the dynamics of the associated concepts, the means by which the abrupt separation is eliminated and the graduated transitions are enhanced. The aim is to explore how these concepts of in-between space are transcribed into contemporary Japanese architecture and how in-between spatial conditions contribute to the formation of atmosphere, flow of the movement and sensory experience of space, over time.	en
