heal.abstract	Η παρούσα ερευνητική εξετάζει τη σύνθετη ιστορία, πολιτική και κοινωνική εξέλιξη της πόλης της Βηρυτού. Από την περίοδο της γαλλικής εντολής και τον εμφύλιο πόλεμο έως την καταστροφική έκρηξη της 4ης Αυγούστου 2020, η Βυρηττός έχει αντιμετωπίσει σημαντικές προκλήσεις που διαμόρφωσαν την τρέχουσα πραγματικότητα της. Η έρευνα επικεντρώνεται στις χωρικές επιπτώσεις αυτών των γεγονότων, εστιάζοντας ιδιαίτερα στις περιοχές της καραντίνας και Mar Mikhael. Μέσα από την ανάλυση των ιστορικών ορόσημων, της μεταπολεμικής ανασυγκρότησης και των πρόσφατων πολιτικών κρίσεων, η εργασία επιδιώκει να αποτυπώσει τις πολύπλευρες διαστάσεις της αστικής καταστροφής και τον βαθύ αντίκτυπο της στον κοινωνικό, πολιτικό και χωρικό ιστό της πόλης. Στόχος είναι να αναδειχθεί η ανάγκη για στοχαστικές και βιώσιμες παρεμβάσεις που θα προωθήσουν ένα ανθεκτικό και δίκαιο δημόσιο χώρο, απαλλαγμένο από τις ιδιοτροπίες ενός συστήματος που δίνει προτεραιότητα στο κέρδος έναντι της ευημερίας των κατοίκων του.	el
heal.abstract	This dissertation examines the complex historical, political and social evolution of the city of Beirut. From the period of the French Mandate and the Civil War to the catastrophic explosion of 4 August 2020, Beirut has faced significant challenges that have shaped its current reality. The study focuses on the spatial implications of these events, focusing particularly on the Karadina and Mar Mikhael districts. Through the analysis of historical landmarks, post-war reconstruction and recent political crises, the paper seeks to capture the multifaceted dimensions of the urban catastrophe and its profound impact on the social, political and spatial fabric of the city. The aim is to highlight the need for thoughtful and sustainable interventions that promote a resilient and equitable public space, free from the vagaries of a system that prioritises profit over the well-being of its inhabitants.	el
