heal.abstract This paper examines the role of architecture in specific examples of Comics and Manga as a field of representation, interpretation, and criticism of urban space. Through selected case studies from the American and Japanese comic traditions, the research analyzes how creators draw on elements from real architecture, urban planning, and architectural movements of the 20th and 21st centuries, combining them with non realistic features. It focuses on Marvel's New York and Birnin Zana, Building Stories' Chicago, Bungo Stray Dogs' Yokohama, Akira's Neo Tokyo, and Blame!'s City, exploring the morphology, function, and narrative role of architecture in each case. At the same time, examines whether these depictions can be considered realistic scenarios for future urban design or whether they function primarily as theoretical and critical models. It thus emerges that comics are a particularly fertile field of study for architecture and the city. They function not only as a mirror of reality, but also as a laboratory of ideas, where alternative models of urban life are tested. From that perspective, comics can make a real contribution to the dialogue on the future of cities and architecture. en
