heal.abstract	Τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες ολοένα και περισσότεροι άνθρωποι ασχολούνται με τα ζώα, ενώ παράλληλα ιδρύονται οργανώσεις προστασίας των δικαιωμάτων τους και θεσπίζονται νομοθετικές ρυθμίσεις που επαναπροσδιορίζουν τη θέση και τη μεταχείρισή τους στη σύγχρονη κοινωνία. Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία εξετάζει την ιστορική εξέλιξη της ανθρώπινης ψυχαγωγίας με τη συμμετοχή ζώων σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο. Πραγματεύεται τους διάφορους τρόπους με τους οποίους αυτά εντάχθηκαν σε πρακτικές διασκέδασης, θεάματος και αναψυχής, από την αρχαιότητα έως σήμερα. Μέσα από παραδείγματα όπως το τσίρκο, τα θαλάσσια πάρκα, οι ζωολογικοί κήποι, τα πολιτισμικά φεστιβάλ, οι τουριστικές δραστηριότητες κ.ά., αναδεικνύεται η μεταβολή της σχέσης ανθρώπου και ζώου διαχρονικά, καθώς και οι κοινωνικές και πολιτισμικές συνθήκες κάθε εποχής που τη διαμορφώνουν. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στη σύγχρονη εποχή, όπου η αυξανόμενη ευαισθητοποίηση γύρω από τα δικαιώματα και την ευζωία των ζώων έχει οδηγήσει σε αναθεώρηση των παραδοσιακών μορφών ψυχαγωγίας και στη δημιουργία νέων εναλλακτικών πρακτικών.	el
heal.abstract	In recent decades, an increasing number of people have become concerned with animals, while at the same time animal rights organizations are being established and legislative regulations are being introduced, redefining their status and treatment in contemporary society. This diploma thesis examines the historical evolution of human entertainment involving animals at a global level. It explores the various ways in which animals have been incorporated into practices of amusement, spectacle, and recreation, from antiquity to the present day. Through examples such as the circus, marine parks, zoological parks, cultural festivals, tourism-related activities, and others, the thesis highlights the diachronic transformation of the human–animal relationship, as well as the social and cultural conditions of each period that have shaped it. Particular emphasis is placed on the contemporary era, in which increasing awareness of animal rights and welfare has led to a reassessment of traditional forms of entertainment and to the emergence of new alternative practices.	en
