This paper tackles the solution of Laplace and wave propagation problems using large B-splines-finite-elements based on Coon's interpolation method (""C-elements""). C-elements are characterized by degrees of freedom appearing only at the element boundaries and can be used in the solution of both static and dynamic problems. They are described in detail and compared to boundary and finite elements. Finally, numerical results are given that sustain theoretical statements. © 1989. |
