The aim of this paper is to present an analytical method for the fast economic assessment of the contribution of wind energy conversion systems (WECS) to power systems. The technique makes use of the fuzzy set notion. The fuzzy set theory is applied to combine the economic and investment criteria, modelled and described by their fuzzy membership function. In that way, the economical appraisal on the merit of installing WECS against a conventional one can be easier and faster figured out. An application of the proposed method to alternative WECS investments in Greece is given. © 1992. |
