heal.abstract |
We consider a gauge theory based on the SU(5/1) supergroup. A new version of the Wilson flux breaking mechanism is introduced intimately connected to the quantum structure of the space on which the theory is defined. As a result, the standard SU (3) x SU (2) x U (1) model elicits out of the unified scheme while problems such as the doublet-triplet splitting find a natural resolution. The model is presented as a prototype of the kind of unification and/or spontaneous symmetry breaking that can be visualized in the general context of non-commutative geometry. |
