Raman and XRD study of the effects of Sr substitution for Ba in the series SmBa2-xSrxCu3Oy is reported for x=0.0 up to 1.25. The profound changes in the interatomic distances, given by XRD, as well as the trends of the Raman spectra, are indicative of the carrier redistribution and tension release, induced by the Sr substitution, after the phase transition to the tetragonal structure at Sr concentrations of x=0.75. © 1994. |
