A series of superconducting samples of the form YBa2-xCaxCu3Oy has been prepared with Ca concentrations up to 100% (x=2.00). For x=2.00 a new non-superconducting phase of the form Y1.14Ca1.58Cu3.27Oy appears. The stoichiometric analysis has proven that Ca substitutes for Y in considerable amounts. The microraman spectra indicate that the substitution of Ba by Ca is minimal while the new phase shows novel characteristics. © 1994. |
