The paper deals with the dynamic behaviour of wire mooring lines in deep water. Numerical methods in the time- and the frequency-domain are presented to evaluate the dynamic tensions and the mooring line motions. Special attention has been paid to the assessment of the impact that submerged buoys have on the dynamic behaviour of mooring lines on which they are attached. The modification of the mooring line dynamic performance in dependence on the buoys' characteristics (number, size and location of attachment) has demonstrated through a parametric numerical study.
