FueTC is an initiative aiming to solve inaccuracy problems, at fuel mass measurements. These problems are caused by the well-known phenomena of thermal contraction and expansion. All the parameters involved and the underlying physical processes are presented. A brief description of the system's architecture, some preliminary experimental measurements and a simple comparison to the theoretically calculated values are also presented. Concluding remarks and a brief discussion on future perspectives are also included in this paper. © 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved. |
