This paper discusses the passive devices used in integrated VCOs in the GHz region. On-chip inductors and varactors are presented, along with three different configurations of LC tanks. Both theoretical and simulation results are presented along with an example of an integrated VCO design. Finally, comments on phase noise simulation are made. |
