Internet technology allows the fast and easy dissemination of GIS information to any interested user, for a multitude of applications. European legislation enforces government and city environmental departmental publication of environmental and other information to the public. Specialised users and organisations also want to work with this data. The authors therefore created an Internet solution for the distribution of navigable and environmental City Information. Piloting the toolkit in the Cities of Antwerp, Munich and Athens showed that the toolkit achieves what it was designed for and that it meets end-user needs and requirements. |
