In this work we present polarized Raman measurements of z-cut multimode H:LiNbO3 waveguides in the kappa (i)- and beta (i)-phase states. A spectrum with unexpected form and behaviour, originating from the layer at the very surface, was observed in samples with various degrees of Li-H substitution. Possible reasons for the presence of this strange spectrum are considered. |
