heal.abstract |
The present paper deals with the characterisation of liquid and solid wastes generated from the Greek currant finishing industries. According to the currant type, for each ton of currant input, 156-230 kg of solid wastes and 3909-5994 kg of wastewaters are produced. The total effluent contains in considerable amounts a large variety of polluting parameters and generally high concentration of organics, sugars, phenolic and sulfur compounds. |
