A computerized secondary standard measurement system for the characterization of soft magnetostrictive materials by means of measuring their magneto elastic behavior was studied. Magneto elastic behavior is the dependence of the generated microstrains due to the magnetostriction on the physical parameters affecting the behavior and their properties. The magneto elastic response of magnetostrictive ribbons and fibers was determined as a function of the position of the head of the plotter with respect to the receiving coil position. The parameters of the measurement were the excitation, the biasing fields, tensile stress and the torsion. |
