heal.abstract Infrared thermography has been used to monitor various porous materials in the laboratory during capillary rise tests, with the intention of evaluating non-destructively the presence of moisture. Supplementary techniques for investigating the porous materials in terms of their microstructure (mercury intrusion porosimetry) and isothermic behaviour (water sorption) were also used. Also, outdoor thermographic surveys were performed on historic structures in order to assess conservation treatments such as stones' consolidation. Finally, the emissivity values of the investigated materials were considered, as determined in the laboratory on collected samples. en
