Summary. Localized bending and buckling of long beam-like straight films due to the change of stiffness is presented. A two-phase beam model is developed. The one phase is considered of infinite stiffness (rigid deformation). The localized phase is studied and the rigid deformation is defined. This kind of two–phase deformations may take place in thin surface structures such as films. |
