heal.abstract |
In this paper we prove certain bifurcation results for the following degenerate quasilinear system -del(v(1)(x)vertical bar del u vertical bar(p-2) del u) = lambda a(x)vertical bar u vertical bar(p-2)u + lambda b(x)vertical bar u vertical bar(alpha)vertical bar v vertical bar(beta)v + f (x, lambda, u, v), -del(v(2)(x)vertical bar del u vertical bar(p-2) del u) = lambda d (x)vertical bar v vertical bar(q-2)v + lambda b(x)vertical bar u vertical bar(alpha)vertical bar v vertical bar(beta)u + g(x, lambda, u, v), x is an element of Omega, u vertical bar(partial derivative Omega) = v vertical bar(partial derivative Omega) = 0, where Omega is a bounded and connected subset of RN, with N >= 2. This is achieved by applying topological degree and global bifurcation theory (in the sense of Rabinowitz). (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. |
