heal.abstract | The nuclear quadrupole resonance of chlorine in the alkali and alkaline earth chlorates was measured at various temperatures. A general trend of decreasing resonance frequency with increasing atomic number of the cations has been observed. It is qualitatively shown that this is due to related changes of lattice dimensions rather than to electronegativity differences of the cations. Resonance multiplicities and significant frequency deviations observed in several hydrates are attributed to the function of water of crystallization. © 1972. | en |
