A heuristic method to assign word classes to a large list of Greek full word-forms is presented in this paper. A great part of lexical ambiguity at the inflectional or derivational level of the modern Greek words can be resolved using a vertical analysis as opposed to the classic horizontal (affix or morphemic) analysis. © 1987 Oxford University Press. |
