This paper presents a survey of the methods which solve the general problem of observability in power system state estimation. Methods primarily intended for offline meter-placement studies and methods suitable for on-line observability determination and reinforcement of observability, are presented. After an overview of various approaches, the most prominent methods are described, examined and their advantages and disadvantages are discussed. |
