TE/TM scattering by strips and slots in the presence of different media can be conveniently formulated in terms of four distinct types of singular integral and integro-differential equations of the first kind. These equations are amenable to an analytical and numerically very efficient and stable solution by the methods proposed in part I [J. Appl. Phys. 70, 1121 (1990)] for scatterers ranging from very narrow to very wide ones. Part II presents specific applications of the above algorithms along with further numerical results. Examples include characteristic currents on a slot separating two isotropic/uniaxially anisotropic half-spaces, characteristic currents on a strip right on the interface between two dielectric half-spaces, TM scattering by a strip right on the planar boundary separating two air/ferrite half-spaces, and TE scattering by a strip on the interface between two dielectric half-spaces. |
