heal.abstract	The aim of this paper is to present an innovative multicriteria decision making method for the evaluation of wind sites. The approach is based on the fuzzy set theory. The sets of information such as the mean wind speed, the wind direction frequency, the terrain roughness length and the wind speed frequency distribution of a site are used and combined through a fuzzy decision algorithm in order to yield the Fuzzy Site Index (FSI). The index is applied to evaluate and classify the sites where the installation of wind turbines is considered feasible. A numerical example of the proposed procedure is presented, using the available wind data of selected sites in Greece.	en
