The present study deals with the development of a method for the estimation of the specific surface of the cement industry materials, based on their particle size distribution. The fineness measurements in the cement industry is carried out with simple and rapid methods. In many cases, however, either for research purposes or for the solution of problems in the cement processing, as well as for the improvement of product quality, it is demanded the estimation of the specific surface although the use of the Blaine apparatus is impossible. With the proposed method, applying the given relations and nomographs, the estimation of the specific surface is possible using the Rosin-Rammler parameters uniformity factor, position parameter or 80% passing size and taking into consideration the material density. This method has the advantage, compared with other used methods, of the satisfactory accuracy and the low bulk of mathematics calculations. So it can be applied for all the material that participate in cement processing. |
