A mobile three-dimensional scanning MIE LIDAR system, suitable to perform daytime/night-time measurements of aerosol parameters (backscatter ratio, extinction coefficient profile) in the Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL) is described. The retrieving algorithm used will be able to retrieve aerosols' extinction and backscattering profiles up to 4-6 km, in moderately polluted areas is investigated and discussed. |
