In this paper we present some results of a study of the influence of the magnetic bias field (applied parallel to the anisotropy axis) and of thermal treatments performed at temperatures 200–350°C, on the longitudinal sound velocity in Fe77.5Si7.5B15 magnetic amorphous wires. Considerable improvements in the magnetoelastic properties of the wires were observed by increasing the annealing temperature above 300°C. |
