Cities could benefit from roof gardens both in visual, aesthetic and local human climatic amelioration. This article presents a comparative experimental study of local upward radiation fluxes under different weather conditions. Hourly measurements on vegetative and insulated surfaces placed on a roof were carried out in Athens in the period 27 August to 11 November 1993. These measurements are still unique in Greece. |
