The European Commission supported project called EUROMED, under the ISIS '95 programme, is promoting for healthcare the adoption of a newly proposed Web-based standard called Virtual Medical Worlds (VMW). The objective of VMW is to utilise the homogeneous nature of the World Wide Web to support remote access to patient healthcare records and diagnostic services. The Euromed project has also identified the 20 foundational building blocks on which a 21(st) Century Telemedical Information Society could be created. This paper highlights those partners and institutions that have been actively involved in the project since it began in January 1996. |
