heal.abstract In recent years, several new architectures have been developed for supporting execution of multimedia applications in end-systems (servers, workstations and set top boxes). However Quality of Service admission control is an essential task that is still missing from these architectures. In this paper, we are first introducing a model that expresses, timing and format, scheduling parameters of distributed multimedia applications with respect to Quality of Service. Furthermore, we use this model to formulate an admission control scheme appropriate for handling effectively multiple concurrently received requests for multimedia services. en
