heal.abstract	Tunnels, within similar geologic environments, employed different construction methods; these are termed, the Norwegian, the Italian and the new Austrian ones. Their application is presented, and any implemented innovations are illustrated and discussed. However, excavation of the tunnels is not yet complete. Their accomplishment may allow, in the future, for the choice of the construction method of such tunnels to be based on an optimum decision between a variety of feasible alternatives.	en
