heal.abstract This paper exploits the optical networks propagation delay latency of WDM networks to introduce a suitable Medium Access Protocol to avoid collisions. The simple proposed algorithm is applied for a single hop passive star WDM architecture. We analyze a synchronous transmission reservation scheme and evaluate the throughput performance and expect significant improvements based on a dynamic adopting policy to access the data channels. en
