This paper presents the development of an integrated computerized procedure for the process design of wastewater treatment plants, regarding not only the calculations of the basic equipment size but also the production of all documents related with the process design stage. The core of the system is a database containing all the information (numeric or alphanumeric data, and graphical objects) necessary for the selection and design of wastewater and sludge treatment processes. Three subsystems access the database.
