heal.abstract	An Electronic Commerce System for the Market of Medical Equipment (MEDICOM) is presented. The MEDICOM service will be provided over the Internet by the MEDICOM Portal, and by a set of distributed subsystems. The ECRI's Universal Medical Device Nomenclature System (UMDNS) is used to register all products. The system design is characterized by platform independence and interoperability.	en
