Recent advances in mobile devices' and networks' technology have set a challenging pace for all new proposals in the rapidly growing domain of mobile communications. The decade of the 90's brought a revolution in mobile computing. The explosion in sales of laptop PCs as well as personal digital assistants and cellular phones has marked the beginning of a new era in the users'/consumers' needs and demands from the network providers. Users of today opt not only for voice and multimedia applications but also for mobility. It is evident that high-speed wireless networks like wATM together with the use of IP are becoming more than an in vitro area of research. |
