heal.abstract In this work we compare two diffraction tomography methods for the reconstruction of two dimensional (2D) biological objects. The proposed methods use the Lippmann-Schwinger Scattering Integral Equation (SIE) to describe the interaction of the incident wave with the scattering object. The reconstruction of the unknown complex refractive index is achieved after monochromatic illumination of the scatterer by a number of incident plane waves and measurement of the scattered field at various observation directions. The purpose of this study is to compare the proposed algorithms in terms of reconstruction accuracy and computational efficiency and to evaluate the range of their respective validity. en
