heal.abstract A Quasi-Point Matching method with Fictitious Sources (QPM-FS) is introduced and clarified by investigating the electromagnetic scattering problem by a cylinder, buried in a two-layered earth medium. This method reduces the effects of several numerical instabilities of the standard Method of Auxiliary Sources (MAS) and thus is expected to treat more efficiently electrically large or complex problems. © 2006 IEEE. en
