A rigorous integral equation formulation in conjunction with Green's function theory is used for the analysis of the wave guiding and coupling phenomena in non-symmetric grating assisted optical couplers. The integral equation is solved by applying an entire domain Galerkin's technique. Numerical results, referring to the evolution of the propagation constants, as function of the grating's characteristics are presented. © 2006 IEEE. |
