The diffusive properties of crosslinked low density polyethylene were examined in a series of solvents at temperatures from 10 to 60 degree C. The swelling process was followed by weight and dimensions measurements. The results obtained, indicate that equilibrium can be reached in a few hours and diffusivity cannot be simply related to the gel content. It was found that it varied linearly with the gel fraction of the amorphous phase. |
