A theoretical model has been developed to predict the behaviour of thermosyphonic solar water heaters with a heat exchanger. The governing equations are numerically treated and a computer program is written to implement the analysis. Input data include hour by hour meteorological conditions and various design parameters. Experimental work has been carried out to check the validity of the model. Collector parameters are based on actual data for a typical one cover, non-selective flat plate collector with negligible heat capacity. |
