The effect of the boundary interphase on the dynamic behavior of a composite reinforced with a continuous fiber is presented. The interlayer region between the constituents, which concentrates all the physicochemical anomalies developed in the matrix during casting, as well as the stress concentrations around the fiber-inclusion, was detected by dynamic experiments. Using a dynastat apparatus and measuring the dynamic moduli of a composite material the loss tangent of the interphase was determined. The effect of the type of bonding, between the fiber and the matrix, on the formation of the interphase was examined. |
