The most widely used method for diagnosing the state of the heart is the interpretation of the 12-lead ECG. Nevertheless, this interpretation is done without commonly acceptable criteria and involves an elaborate procedure. In this work we are trying to make a classification between a physiological cardiac state and a non-physiological one, by appropriately processing the signal of the II-lead of ECG. In particular after transforming by FFT the II-lead signal we obtain its power spectrum. By considering only two features of this spectrum, we have proved that very satisfactory results are derived as far as the classification of this cardiac state is concerned in the above two categories. The classification is done with the help of Bayes decision theory. The above processing was entirely done with the help of computer facilities. |
