The paper presents the Reporter's response to two papers presented in the session on 'Implications for Concrete Structures,' together with some views regarding post-cracking models of reinforced concrete elements. Examples of insufficiency of the conventional approach of ultimate limit state have already given some warnings to Structural Engineers. The comments in this Report are attempting to recall some of these ill-treated cases. Subjects covered include scale effects time dependent phenomena, and others. |
