The potential of the combination prehydrolysing-oxygen delignification is investigated from the point of view of improving the efficiency and selectivity in pulping wheat straw. The effects of temperature, time, alkali concentration, oxygen pressure and flow rate were analyzed by the appropriate factorial designs. Prehydrolyzed and unpretreated straw were compared as raw materials for fiber production. In spite of an increase in selectivity, the major problem in pulping the former is yield loss. |
