Increased utilization of the bands below 10 GHz and requirements for high-speed digital data transmission have necessitated the use of higher frequencies for the terrestrial line-of-sight communication links. In this frequency range, signal attenuation is caused mainly by rain. The purpose of this paper is the development of a model for the theoretical statistical distribution of the accumulated thermal noise due to rain in a multirelay microwave communication system. This can be considered as a crucial parameter for the proper design of the system. |
