A method is proposed for detecting the QRS waves in ECG waveforms that utilizes a general-purpose attribute grammar interpreter. The method overcomes the drawbacks of previous approaches and exhibits the following characteristics: non-left-to-right matching; concurrent parsing and primitive extraction; selective recognition of only the prominent parts of the waveform; determination of all the (syntactically-semantically) correct solutions; and selection at the highest level of the globally optimal solution. |
